topic of this unit is Plants. In this unit, your child will

reproductive organs in a flower

their own food through photosynthesis

ENGLISH UNIT 2: PEOPLE AND COUNTRIES
Dear Parents,
Your child is learning about countries. In
this unit your child will learn how to ask and talk about where people are from
and which languages they speak.
In Unit 2 your child will learn about why
people move to a foreign country and ways to help a new child at school. Your child will also learn about the
Wild West and children in Britain whose families originally come from other
countries. They will also play a game to practise word stress in English.
In this unit your child will have the
opportunity to read and write questions and answers about where people are
from, where they live now and which languages they speak. Your child will also
read short texts about where children and their families are from and write a
short text about their own family, following a model.

THE VIKINGS
The protagonists of our book, Emily, Jack and Sam are going to be time travelers and each unit will lead us to a different era. In the first unit traveling to the time of the Vikings.
The Vikings were sailors and soldiers.
They lived in the north of Europe.
The Vikings were tall, fair and strong.
They used helmets, shields and swords.
They used long, wooden boats with square sails.
In the 9th century the Vikings started to look for new land.
They were the first people from Europe to discover America.
