to reinforce the content you can click on the following links. I hope that you
and your child enjoy these games!
Your child is working on unit 2.
The main topic of this unit is food.
In this unit your child will learn how to ask and talk about the food people
like and don’t like. He/she will also ask and talk about sports and musical
instruments people play.
This
topic links new language to learning in other subjects. Your child is learning about
the food pyramid and what you need to eat to stay healthy. Your child will
complete his/her own ‘My Little Fact File of Food’ to reinforce this learning.
Your child will also learn about children’s favourite food in Britain and play
a game to practise specific English sounds.
In
this unit your child will have the opportunity to read and write questions
about what other people like and don’t like. Your child will also read short
texts about the food pyramid and write a short text about his/her favourite
food, following a model.
The
interest and encouragement of a child’s family is very important when they are
learning a language. You can support your child by finding a regular quiet time
to look at your child’s English book/s and talk with him/her about what they
are doing in the English class. You can also listen to the songs and stories
from Footprints 3 together.
Thank you for your help in
making your child’s early contact with English as enjoyable and successful as
possible.
I upload some games to reinforce the content of this unit. I hope you like them!
