ENGLISH UNIT 4: A WORLD OF JOBS

Dear Parents,

Your child is about to start Unit 4: The main topic of this unit is jobs. In the unit your child will learn how to talk about how often they do things and what they would like to be. He/she will be introduced to this language through episode 4 of the exciting adventure story The Egyptian scroll, a song and a grammar rap: The job song.

In Unit 4 your child will learn about Egyptian history and about the way jobs are different. Your child will complete his/her own ‘My Little Fact File of Work and Jobs’ to reinforce this learning. Your child will also learn about jobs in Britain and say sentences to practise word stress.

In this unit your child will have the opportunity to read and write questions and answers about jobs, what people do and what they would like to do. Your child will also read short texts about people’s jobs and write a short text about their own family and what they would like to do in the future, following a model.

I hope you and your child enjoy the unit!

Mrs. Eva.
