UNIT 9: THINGS I LIKE DOING

Dear Parents,

The main topic of this unit is holiday activities. In this unit your child is learning  how to talk about the activities he/she and other people like and don’t like doing, and why.

They are learning about coasts and what we can find on rocky and sandy beaches. He/she is also learning some simple safety rules for the beach. Your child is completing his/her own ‘My Little Fact File of Beaches’ to reinforce this learning. He/she is also finding out about the things children in Britain like doing in the holidays and playing a game to practise intonation in English questions.

In this unit your child is having the opportunity to read and write sentences about what he/she and other people like doing. Your child is also writing rules to follow when you go to the beach and writing a short description about what he/she likes and doesn’t like doing in the summer holidays.

You can find some resourses below to work on this unit.

MICROPOLIX

We had a great time at Micropolix. They pretended to be grown-ups as they took part in activities related to different professions, which aim to transmit values, respect and responsibility in a fun way.
Children received a fixed sum of "eurix", the currency in Micropolix, which they used to do a large number of things including getting their driving licence, buying tickets to a show or shopping in the supermarket. Those who wanted to earn some more money did so by getting a job.
